How to Develop and Execute a Monthly Giving Project

How can you supercharge your fundraising to maximize its growth? There are many ways to make appeals, but developing a monthly giving product, or what is called a Continuity Donor Product, can be a very productive and cost-effective way of increasing funding for your organization. Following are some principles for developing your product. The result can increase the lifetime value of what each donor gives without necessarily increasing expenditures.

Defining a Continuity Donor

First, let's describe what this donor is not. A Continuity Donor is not the donor who is giving a major gift or an annual gift. This is also not the donor who is pledging to give on a monthly basis until a particular ministry is accomplished.

A Continuity Donor is a person who gives continuously to your organization. He or she is willing to give a small amount of money, continuously, perhaps in the range of $20-$30. This is an amount that for most people is not going to be painful; instead, they will feel free to give ...
